Laptop Problems with Irish Broadband

    Hi Everyone, I Am Having a few problems hooking up my ripwave modem to my fujitsu laptop. It wont connect for some reason, and if i plug it in to the usual desktop pc everything is done automatically. Any ideas? Is there something i am doing wrong in settings or somethin? AAArgh!!

    Try have the PC on and check your firewall connections and Network connections against it.

    Assuming that it's an ethernet version modem make sure your network settings are set to receive an IP automatically.

    What happens when you plug the modem in? There could potentially be a problem if you have it working on your PC and then plug it straight into you laptop. IBB DHCP server only renews once every hour so if you're using the modem with one machine and then connect it to another, the second machine won't be assigned an IP address for up to an hour.
