    Thats the funny thing, if you're gonna sell a 3d package the first thing you look at is how "professional" - "elite" - "fashionable" the layout is; as though by having a stylish layout you will automatically start making stylish art. Smart enough phsycological move.

    You have to admit though, having an attractive GUI makes it much easier on the eyes, and much more enjoyable to use. I've used some top end engineering packages worth in excess of 50 grand, but the GUI looks like it was put together by monkeys, and that is painful to use.
