Recycling Old Clothes

I'm looking to get rid of old clothes - none are re-wearable so the enable ireland bins at recycling depots are any good. Someone told me there was somewhere that you could leave clothes for shredding etc and it was used in making padding envelopes among other things. Anyone heard of this or know where it is.

Need to get rid of old shoes as well - again none that could be re-used.

    Thanks
    D
