Whats with the shortage of Drummers!!!

    I'm looking for a drummer for a band just starting out. There are four of us, 2 guitarists a bassist and a singer. We're influenced by Oasis, The Beatles, The Doors, The Strokes etc. We have no gigging experience yet, as I said we're just starting out. We're based in the southside city centre, and we're all between 18 and 20.

    ;...spotted yer add.. why the shortage of drummers??..to be honest I'm not sure if there is one?....ive seen a good few ads lately by stix men/woman, so maybe is now and then their all available. I think many get tired of being treated like second class music citizens, its only loud mouthed sods like me that dont allow any other musician to dictate to me what to play and what not to play :)..after all ..any drummer worth his/her salt should be well able to construct and perform parts suitable to the feel/subject of any song...is a form of deep thought me thinks/ or maybe instinct?,,, :)

    Anyway , if ya get no joy here, try Gigsmart, some of us have gotten a drum net forum over there and many drummers come and go there,, im sure someone will be glad to help ya's out.

    I'm a drummer and i made a drumset thread on the instruments page (we tend to all hang out there and be anti-social) but yeh, i'm in about 4 feckin bands and not to show off or anything, there is a lack of GOOD drummers out there and when you manage to get good you tend to find yourself in demand. I'd say the that at the moment a lot of drummers like myself are in a similar situation (which is great). I think that because there's the whole guitar craze thing which i despice and everyone wants to play guitar (and be un-original) is making many persons steer clear of instruments like bass and drums. Our biggest problem was finding a bassist, and now we dont have a singer. But anyway.... enough ranting. The answer to your question........ i cant be in another so cant help you there.
