Just found this on the creativeireland web site. What do you think?

here's a questionnaire to send back to
    servants@ireland.com

Did you know that Aosdana was set up in 1981 to honour Irish Art and Artists in regards to outstanding contributions to the Arts?

Did you know when Aosdana were asked what constitutes an outstanding contribution we got no reply?

Did you know 50% of Aosdana are older than 60 years of age?

Did you know being Irish and under 30 years of age, you will not be considered eligible for joining Aosdana?

Did you know 101 members annually receive £ 8,720 each?

Did you know that the total cost is £ 880,770?

Did you know that this Money is all Taxpayers money?

Did you know that all this Money is given to Artists who have created original and creative works of distinction?

Did you know we couldn‚t name 20 of them; can you?

Did you know that 12% of Aosdana were not even born in Ireland?

Did you know when asked for the annual report for the Arts Council in 2000, we received the 1998 one?

Did you know three very prominent members of the Arts Council recently resigned?

Did you know that the Arts Council will receive £ 34 million of Tax Payers money this year?

Did you know it sometimes takes five months to get an appointment with an Arts officer?

Did you know that Publishers, Theatre‚s and Businesses receive very large grants?

    Why aren‚t these businesses self-supporting?

Do these Businesses need the money?

    Gallery Press £ 62,000

    Gate Theatre £ 600,000

Did you know that the Arts Council being an autonomous body actually discriminates and harms our Constitution by some of its rules?

Did you know that the Arts Council is currently under staffed?

Did you know that some of its members have three positions?

Before you read this questionnaire did you have any idea about the state of the arts in Ireland, run by the Arts Council, and funded by the Government?

yeh.. SH|TE innit.. a tad corrupt it sounds to me.. or maybe favouritism.. our perhaps all the artist who get that 8 grand or so a year have family members on the board.. wouldnt surprise me if a spot of nepotism was involved.. anyway.. i know i could use 8 grand a year to work on my art.. its be NOICE..
