Thinking of upgrading from Chorus analogue cable to digital (it will actually work out cheaper for me).

Does anyone know if the analgoue signal still available as far as my TV set so that I can connect it to my VCR by putting in a splitter before it connects to the STB?

    Thanks.

wow so you are one of those mystical people with chorus digital cable not mmds. it will be 2008 again we get it i think. I think that the analogue cable is still there depends on the installintion you could try the old splitter trick where you split the cable in two at hte juntion box. by the way how is chorus digital cable? any extra channels or interactive services?

I haven't actually got it installed yet but will probably order it soon. I currently have the analogue service plus I have some additional channels ("Family Pack") by way of their analogue decoder box. I'm going digital because it will be €3 a month cheaper than my current setup and in the hope of getting better reception.

In terms of interactive, I am expecting very little. The Chorus STB includes the cheapest (and hence worst) version of OpenTV that was available when they spec'ed the box in 2000 or thereabouts. In the OpenTV SDK release notes, there are one or two items for the version that Sky uses and 3 or 4 pages of stuff that doesn't work for the version that Chorus has.

Interactive with chorus is non-existant, but at least you are most likely to get one of the new smaller sagem boxes which are much smaller and much more stable than the clunky older models that used to overheat.
