    Hi

Thanks for the suggestion. I understand that I can use the device you suggested but this would be using Bluetooth instead of WiFi, I am sure that the two devices i.e. the laptop and the printer can be connected without any other devices. Ie just with xp and some fiddling around. It's the specifics of this I am after. I will understand if I have got the wrong idea of how these two can connect but it dose seem like they can just connect.

    Thanks for the help

As far as I can see there is no Wifi built in to that printer only an ethernet port, therefore you would need a wireless printer access point such as below.

    Linksys Wireless-G Print Server 54 Mbps 802.11g, USB 2.0, 10/100 LAN

    Or the solution above.

    Hi again

I agree with odie the printer dose not look like it has built in WiFi. I mean its a really badly documented printer but i am assured it has this feature. but anyway there is no point in going round in circles, i think the printer comes with sweet FA documentation thats of any use. I have been looking into this more and i think now the way i need to go is Ad-hoc network. i havent really any idea of how this works but i think this is the 1 for me.

If anyone has any comments Id love to hear

Thanks to everyone for there replies

It does have wifi - look here.

I am not sure an ad-hoc network will work, unless you can "type" in an IP address on the printer itself.
