What's the best way to remove old and worn vinal tiles off a concrete floor to lay new ceramic tiles? Could I heat them and get the glue to melt and lift them off then?

    Hi Galway...........

Use a sharp scraper or even a steel trowel, keep the heating off or as low as you can, the first tile will be the hardest, but not too hard if you start at the corner.

As soon as the first tile is up the rest will follow fairly easy, heat will only make the adhesive stronger.

Standard safety googles or glasses because they can break and shatter.
