I've never been to an internet cafe, but i plan to send some emails while interrailing. Will i be able to install the necessary software in an internet cafe to be able to send photos from my digital camera to the computer? How likely is it that there'll be SD card (or multicard readers) attached to the computers?

I'm going from Poland down to Croatia btw, so anyone who has been to cafes in any of the in between countries, i'd appreciate your help.
    Thanks.

questionable if they will have card readers. but you should be able to install some software on there for ur digital camera, if you explain it to them. best of luck anyway :)

I've been to a few in Poland about 2 yrs ago , lots of them using windows 98 ( like here) still so adding a card reader might require additional software to be loaded

the prices were VERY cheap though , less than €1 an hour , you felt guilty not to pay more

Best to bring the software and a card reader ( very cheap on www.7dayshop.com ) with you and ensure you can get software for windows 98 with it

It seems i'll be getting a USB device which i can plug a SD card into. It requires additional software. You're telling me that they shouldn't have any problem with me installing it? That's good. All I needed to hear. Cheers

At the end of the day its down to where you go. I dont think they would have a problem BUT a lot of places are completely locked down, they use their own shell etc. So you will not be able to do it without them logging in as admin. Im sure though that the person who looks after the place will sort you out though as long as you can understand each other.

Don't forget that some "98" drivers only work with windows 98 second edition - so check before you buy. Most cafes should have SE but chances are the one you'll end up in won't.

So most cafes will really be that far behind! That's a bit of a kick in the teeth. I'm gonna bring a PDA with bluetooth to. There's no chance of having bluetooth in a cafe is there?

    It depends where you go

I saw home broadband working in Krakow 2 years ago !...wireless ,very impressed , put fast corporate speeds to shame here
