Snaowboarding to Skateboarding - Need advice

    Hey Everyone,

I have a a few questions that hopefully somebody can answer for me...??

At the end of march I went boarding in France for the first time ever and loved it. I was know as as "all the gear no idea" by my mates on the first day they had all been sking for 10 years previous and by the end of the week I was "all the kit gnarly sh1t" pulling jumps and landed 1 X 180. Gave it me all and loved it apart from falling on my ass on the second day and that meant no marshel arts up until 2 weeks ago almost 2 months without after brusing my ass

But anyway now that I am alive in the land of the fit and able I dont want to loose and of the balance/skill that I picked up on holidays so how close would skateboarding be to snow boarding for the summer months here in Ireland

Is it worth it...... would it be of any benifit

If so where are good places to buy boards in dublin...?

What do I need to look out for price features etc of a good boards

How much should a novice buy a board for

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks Guys
    S.G.

if your going from snowboading to skateboarding imo i think it would be hard cause in snow boarding you dont have to ollie all you do is jump(i think)
some good shops in dublin are g1 etc. do you want a pro board or a cheapy pound city board??

well doing tricks jump would hopefully come in the future

but the main reason in the beginning would be to learn to ride the baord in a straight line and turn cause i reckon that would be fairly simular to snow boarding leaning on your heal edge or toe edge learn to turn also learn to ride goofy(feet reverse to your regualr stance).

Well I wouldnt mind spending a few quid for a board maybe 150-200 euro for board trucks wheels I take it that I could pick up something for that ...?

    Does that make sense...?

Super Glue, have you considered mountain boarding? Its probably the closest thing to snowboarding on dry land.check out www.atb.co.uk or google it.you'll pick up a full board for about 250 maybe.its the closest thing though, when ya get the speed you'll pull off ollies n rotations.
