Dvd Recorder?

    I've a DVD Recorder for the tv a sony one, if i record something should i be able to pop the dvd into the computer and it come up? Because evertime i do it its blank but the video comes up on the recorder?

    the disc might need to be finaised by the sony recorder first.

    Did you finalize the disc after you recorded it? If not, then it will not play in other DVD players.

    What Chalk and Shamrok said sounds pretty much in line with my findings on this also. PC will not be able to access the video which the Sony (or any other make) has recorded in the normal way. The way RW discs are used in 'dvd video recorders' would be somewhat comparable to how 'Direct CD' by Roxio or 'InCD' by Nero uses a CDRW on a pc. You can however use a program such as Isobuster to extract the video recording from the disc and onto your hard drive from which you can then burn it back as a DVD movie disc or make a DivX or whatever else you want with it.
