Did anyone else see this? It sounds wonderful.

To recap, the Nightlife add-on will feature:

Cars! You can get your Sims to drive places anytime you want - no more carpools! You can modify the cars and buy better ones the more money you have. Also, afaik, you can build garages to hold the cars into your Sim's house.

Neighbourhood - you'll be able to see other buildings in the neighbourhood from your Sim's lot - no more vast green expanses!

Nightlife - you can go on dates or go to pick people up at nightclubs, restaurants, bowling alleys etc. You can also do this on campus with students plus, apparently it's a way of boosting your Sim's love for another Sim more quicky.

    Rugs - finally!

New objects - including disco lights, a DJ booth your Sims can use and more clothes etc

New Sims - including vampires! (So in theory, you could create a half-alien, half-vampire Sim, kill it and resurrect it as a zombie!)

    Pretty cool, huh?

Thank you for this enlightened repsonse. You have enriched my Simming experience considerably with your deep level of insight into the game's next expansion pack.

The sims isn't crap. It's a highly innovative and enjoyavle game that has been taken into the level of a joke by the marketting people who bring out an expansion that adds sweet ffa to the game or throw in a 'hip' soundtrack to appeal to the masses.

finally been wanting to do that for ages :D i personaly really like the sims2 however i do hate the fact that EA probably already had all those ideas even b4 the release of the orginal but made them as addons instead so they can make more money...

Give me an example of an add-on that added nothing to the game. I thought they were all quite good apart from the pets one which I didn't buy as I don't like animals.

    /edit

Also, from the interviews etc I've seen with the makers of the Expansion Packs, they do seem to be making genuine efforts to add to the gameplay and to keep fans happy. Sure, they could probably have all the features in the original game but that would slow up the game's release quite a bit and it would mean there was no chance to modify the game until the next version.

dont see how they just cant offer those features as free downloads/upgrades like the sims2 community lot thingy on ea is rubbish about 20 extra items! wow...
there lots of unoffical sites that give extra features some of which are mix of disturbing/alluring but still are free (if not a bit buggy) ...nothing beats sims porn!

Yes, you can get a lot of good stuff on fan sites. I agree that the freebies on the EA site aren't great but they have a fairly good links page to quality fan sites. The upgrades would be quite large to download also I don't have a problem with charging for add-ons if they provide quite a bit of content. I mean, Sims university adds a whole new life-phase - that's quite impressive and I don't think even the most dedicated Sims fans would have been able to make useable cars!

Well, you don't get to drive - it's just a fast way of moving between locations. But the day will come (you can already drive around the city in Sim City 4 but it's no where near as good as a GTA-type game)

No personal insults. As you know the rules, this is your first and last warning before you’re banned for a week.

As for anyone - stay on topic, the topic is not 'the sims is crap', feel free to start a new topic on such.

The addons for the first sims were getting pretty pointless by the end. The magic and celebrity ones didnt really add to much to it, and it was getting overcrowder.
Im just gonna buy this and the first add on I'd say.
Well as soon as I upgrade my RAM to play it.

But whats the point? You've already spouted your pointless drivel that adds nothing to the topic.

I liked the Sims 2, but I agree that some of the expansions are a bit of a waste, not all of them though. Nightlife will probably be the best, and it will go downhill from there.
