There are advantages to having wireless networks but ultimately there can be problems with speed and dropped signals etc... If you could have a wired network as well would you? Assuming little or no cost

WOuld you want a wired network if you could for the same prices as a wireless one? 8 votes

WTF? Would I want a wired network if it cost the same as a wireless network? Since when was setting up a wireless network cheaper than a wired network?

    Worst poll ever.

Wires are thousands of times more reliable than wireless (99.9% availability - yeah right) and a LOT more secure too.

If you mean LAN - then wires are more secure and higher bandwith.
If you mean WAN - the main reason wireless is used is because you don't have permission to run wire/fibre.

So no there are very few cases where wireless would be preferred to wired except for portable/casual users with masses of encryption or non-sensitive data.

Always! Try to set up a wired network in a 3 bed semi. You will find a proper network to be placed in is a lot more expensive than a wireless one.
