    Anyone know anything about how to go about naming your house?

    I'm building a house, and I intend to give it a name. I've no idea how to go about it? Do I need approval from somebody? Presumably there's some kind of process whereby I cant use the same name as somebody else in the town or something that might be considered unsavoury? And presumably there's some process of letting An Post know of the name?

    I had a problem receiving my mail when I moved to a semi-rural location some 4 years ago, lots of the same surname living in the locality, contacted the Post Office with a view to putting a name on my house, the reply was just go and do it and let us know so that we can inform the Postman, so I did, no more problems with my mail. Did all this over the phone to my local sorting office within an hour.
    And of course informed ALL of my NEW address (ie House Name)
