Anyone else a fan of Josh Rouse here? I was a big fan of 1972, but not so much his latest effort Nashville. He is playing in the Village on the 14th July anyway, so I picked up a couple of tickets. Only €17 too, which I think is very reasonable ;).

Ya, I've 1972 allright.. I like him, well kind of. Kind of find him a bit boring in that I don't think he every really "gets going" if you know what I mean??

Besides that, by all means I'd say he wouldn't be a bad way to pass an evening.

Yea really like Nashville, didnt like it at first, got it and then abandoned it, then heard one of the songs on the radio and fell in love with it again...very very tempted to go...

I love his voice. I've only heard his stuff through those free compilation CD's you get with Q etc. Anyone recommend an album?

Yep, I'm a fan. I first heard of him from the Vanilla Sky soundtrack - he had a track called Directions on it. He has 5 albums (Dressed up like nebraska, home, under cold blue stars, 1972 and Nashville). He also has an EP called Chester which he did with Kurt Wagner. 1972 also came out on DVD as a concert, and it was great stuff.

Favourite songs are Afraid to Fail (Home), Directions (Home), Nothing gives me Pleasure (UCBS), Under cold blue stars (UCBS), Come Back (1972) and Winter in the Hamptons (Nashville).

Winter in the Hamptons is one of my favourite songs so far this year....

i heard a lot about josh rouse and just how good he is so i got my hands on a copy of nashville and it has to be the biggest mistake of my life. Thank god for the returns policy, i brought it back and the guy serving me said he bought it too and realised how over hyped it was and returned his too. Sorry folks but i've gotta say that either this album was a blip and all his other stuff is great or dont believe the hype....
