The last Bushido in the Point was the most ridiculous waste of money ever...they call that a martial art?!

some obvious issues with the first show but im optimistic about this one though so many of the people in the point didnt have a clue what was going on - expexting huma cock fighting or something like that - got my tickets just now - front row - get the good seats while you can - theyre all the one price - woth some better organisation, some rule changes and hopefully a better crowd it could be a great show

WARNING - may contain grappling. if you do not like grappling/MMA go watch a boxing/kickboxing event.

innervision - so what you train in? maybe i can get a fight for you on a future card and you can show us all what a 'real martial art' is??

I thought the first event was good, bar the climax. The main event could of been picked better, but nevertheless.. The rest of the lads didn't let us down.

Also Innervision.. They don't call it a "martial art". They call it mixed martial arts. We take what works, keep it and throw the rest away. If you didn't like the first show, that's entirely your opinion but I wouldn't go questioning the ability of the fighters on the card. They are very well trained and put alot of time into what they do. It's not easy standing out in front of thousands of people throwing down trying to avoid your arm being hyper-extended or your jaw been caved in.

Like John said, if you think you can do better.. Put your name down. There are plenty of amatuer MMA events on all during the year. See how you fair in them before you judge the level of the guys at bushido :)

Well firstly, €40 to watch a couple of fights was pretty ridiculous (happily I got my ticket free!) especially when the main even didn't even materialise. That's what I was mainly referring to when I criticized the event, granted I thought the fights weren't great but that's purely opinion and due to the fact that I do a totally different style (ITF Taekwon-Do) and find it hard to be objective!

Saying that you thought the fights weren't great is fine but saying "they call that a martial art?!" simply shows a lack of knowledge of what you are talking about.

I listened to ads on FM104 for weeks coming up to it about the "greatest mixed martial art in the world", forgive me for thinking it would resemble one! The extensive advertising proves this was marketed at the general public, with little or no knowledge of martial arts, so saying that I can't appreciate it because I don't know a lot about it is a pretty weak argument.

How many mixed martial arts fights have you seen?

I agree that some of the fights weren't the most exciting but it's a tough sport and the reality is that not every fight will be a classic it's not pro wrestling

I guess I expected a lot because of all the hype. And the cost! Personally I'd never dream of charging people €40 to see a few fights unless they were really top class. And as for the guy not even turning up for the main event, that was a bit of a joke!

Well that was out of the promoters hands as far as him not coming out to fight, it was their fault however that they booked a weak main event. It's ok if you didn't like the show.. Nobody here is going to question your opinion - It's when you question the ability of the fighters is when you make it personal. That's all. Let's drop it here. No need to drag it on.

Anyways, hope to see everyone there. Should be a good craic.

tickets dont seem to be selling - actually knowing who is on the card might help

Well, there is a few months before it happens. I just hope they have a solid main event.. I'm buying my ticket in good faith.
