    Hi all

    what are people's experience with trains and buses in USA
    I'm not talking a 1/2hr journey buses, but the long haul ones from city to city
    (7hrs+)

    They're not *that* much cheaper than flying with one of the low fare airlines. Train travel is nice but long bus journeys.....uuuuugggggggh!

    my brother got the bus from boston to toronto and then onto new york. he says it was awful, painful! but worth it for the price.

    i got the train from new york to pennsylvania and found it expensive but nice.

    Well I haven't been on a train, but I have on a bus several times, traveling from California to Florida and vice versa. It can be tiresome and irritating, but it isn't really all that bad.
    But then I am use to that. I say if it isn't a long distance go for it on a bus. If you have extra bucks to spare, then go on the train.
