    Hey all,

I'll be dropping into a train station tomorrow to find out more but I'm hoping someone here may be able to inform me as well. I've had a look at the irishrail.ie website and haven't come across anything that answers my question just yet.

I will be travellling around Ireland in the next couple of days. My travelling will entail a main trip from Cork to Mullingar and return. I will be breaking this trip up a bit, and travelling to one other destination and I'm wondering if irish rail have any ticket that can cover this?? I'm travelling as a student so my cost will be reduced some what.

    Thanks,
    A.

You can buy a ticket for Cork-> Mullingar but that means going to Dublin, then changing stations and then going to Mullingar. There's a bus that goes from Cork to Athlone and another that would go between athlone and Mullingar but i'm not sure if the times connect well. Good luck with the trip, you'll need it.

Ah it won't be too bad :) I've travelled the journey before and had no problems. Train is definately the better option, bus times don't connect well afaik.
