Why not just put your bank details on the back?

Why do they need them like?
I already paid for the postal order so why do they need my bank details?

Well in fairness, if he was handing it in with a passport form an unscrupulous person would have practically every relevant detail about that person.
Passport form would have name, address, phone, pps number, date of birth etc.
The banks don't look for much more than that.

Yes, i know that's being very paranoid and i'm not saying anything would have happened but it's a possibility.

    Ooops, sorry.

Under normal circumstances you'd be right though there isn't much that can be with just an account number and a sort code.
I was just pointing out that all necessary details would be together in the above situation.

Well would ye reckon puttin the info on the back is safe?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,389 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lenny

    Why wouldn't they?
I'm sure you'd remember the face of the person that worked in the post office and they'd do checks alright so if anyhting dodgy happened in the next few weeks cause of you putting that on the back they'd know who it was
    whats this
"I'm a women by the way" got to do with it? I think I missed something?

It had nothing to do with you applying for the passport.

It was all about bank procedure and money laundering.
