got an "insider tip" on this....

There's an upcoming radio campaign starting tomorrow AFAIK, but here's the model:

    http://www.packardbell.co.uk/products/node1601.asp?partNumber=pb15b00201

It's this model with a 40Gb drive, I am told. The jist of it is that it is a semperon machine with a multi (+ & -) DVD burner. Comes with firewire too.

Goes on sale this Saturday (June 4th) at Back From The Future, 77 Aungier Street.

It's very like the one in Dunnes Stores but only has 256 RAM.

yeah but the semperon chip is better than the celeron so it kinda evens out. still i've heard that packard bell don't have the best rep. for their laptops so checking a good warranty may be essential

Well, both the Fujitsu & the Packard Bell in question are made by FIC, so I would say quality wise they would be on par with one another.

The PB has firewire, faster CPU (possibly at the detriment of battery life, although the others I have tried before in this range last about 2hrs, generally) and a card reader (SD, SM & MMC, I think). Adding another 256 would cost feck all to bring it to 512. Warranty, the guys usually try to sort things out for you, rather than having to get on a phone to some 3rd party place, it would be fair to say they are more useful than Dunnes!

Hopefully ill get to play with one tommorrow, so I can give more specifics for anybody who is interested........

What does "Wireless Network - as above" mean? Do I need a Wifi card separately?
