When i click the executable the computer does a bit of clicking and then nothing. COD shows up in the task list. Then after about a minute or two the screen goes black and then about another minute or two later the cod will finally open. After this there are no problems.

Has anyone encountered this. The strange thing is that during the idle times the CPU is doing nothing. This is really anoying.

Has it always happened, or just recently? (If recently, what did you change?)

This used to happen to me, before the latest patch, but if i took the network cable out of the back it would load fine, then stick the cable back in, try it just in case

Then try take the network cable out now and see what happens. Perhaps you could use more RAM.

I found the cause of this delay. It was really annoying me so i spent a while finding out what was going on in the idle time and it was sending some info to an activision server but my novell client was interfering with this for some reason. so i uninstalled novell and everything is working perfect.

I dont use novell at all so i didnt mind removing it. I dont know how to solve this if you need novell.

"Novell Netware" Its a network connection thing. I needed it during college term to connect to my college network.
