How goes it all, just joined the board today and thought I would write a hello note to all. Ive been reading a lot of posts here of late, and figured it was about time I got involved.

I've been playing home game poker for years, but only recently starting playing poker for real. I mainly play on pokerroom.com, empirepoker and paddypowerpoker.

I have drastically improved in my play over the last few months (although still not making any serious profit), due to the postings, on both boards.ie and twoplustwo.com, and the few books I bought. I have been through slanskys 'theory of poker' and am currently reading Dan Harringtons no limit holdem tournaments vol 1.

I am joining for a few reasons.
firstly, I am starting to feel more confident about my play, and about my ability to converse on poker topics.
Secondly, I would like to play a few of the tournaments with you guys. As like many others, the fish are getting to me. (although some may very well consider me to still be a fish... from time to time my mask of sanity slips:).
Thirdly, to meet some new poker enthusiasts, and maybe get involved in more live games in the casinos etc.

I am based in cork, so not too much action on the poker scene, and have yet to play a live poker cash or tournament game. I am reading here about the macau in cork and am thinking of trotting along to a night there. Anyone know much about it. What nights and what structures etc?

Also, I hear that the €10000 guarantee tournament in the Rochestown Park hotel is now on every monday night. Its a €50 + €5 entry, which is a bit steep for me when I wouldn't really be expecting to win it. In saying that, one of the regulare home game players played in that for his fist time tournement and ended up coming 5th and getting knocked out by a pro... so you never know

Well thats about it from me... i hope to get a bit more involved in the boards now and maybe have an input every now and again.... anyhow... sorry about the long post and hello to all....
