Is there an "adult" industry in Ireland?

From googling I have found three websites which at least claim to be run by Irish people.

One, which I frequent - put the words sexy ireland and dot com to find it - is quite good.

Another is by a minger (which makes me believe it is real!) who is mad into Ireland flags and leprechaun style rubbish.

The other is a ballon bursting fetish website. (seriously)

It seems kind of strange. Obviously up North they're probably a bit more liberal and could be producing porn, but it still seems weird to me that an Irish person could be involved in this "sort of thing".

    But you never know...

Do you reckon there is an underground porn industry in Ireland?

Unbelievably there was an 'Irish' porn movie called "F**ked In Ireland" made here at some stage. No link for obvious reasons but google should reveal all.

There might be - it's not so strange if you consider that they're probably not marketing it as specifically Irish porn (with the images of well-endowed leprachauns that brings to mind*) but as images of people doing sexual stuff like any other porn.

*although, there's always one** as the Tayto ad goes

**that's a figure of speech - I have no verification***

i dont know about movies but recently in easons while getting my monthly fix of T3 and Stuff, a chap beside me i'd say only about 20 years old took down a magazine called Irish wives (i think) but the tagline was "from dublin to donegal", i must admit i nearly pissed myself laughing, if your gonna buy something filthy at least purchase a publication with some aesthetic appeal, he was 2 people in front of me at the till and there he was handing over the readies, so yes there is some kind of adult industry in ireland but i doubt its very successful.

Someone (think it was Garth V) once linked me to an Irish mature bird site. The owner claimed not to be a slapper, but a "temptress"

Sweet jaysus Dublindude, I wouldn`nt touch her with yours

There is also a Finglas blue flick about, there was a thread on it a while back, do a search

Apparently Ballymun had a thriving industry in the 80s

There was also some magazine Rubadub enlightened us about in that thread, featuring some Roscommon bird with "a box that looked like a badly worn corpo roadsweepers brush" :D:D

Home of the "No Sodomy In Ulster" campaign? Seriously, WTF? have you ever been in the North?

Then again, maybe you were and the general effect whereby some people find that anywhere they don't live seems an easier place to engage in sexual activity kicked in. The reason San Francisco is so kinky is that it was a place people moved to, it wasn't "home" for many of the people that lived there (that and if you got kicked out of the U.S. Navy for being gay, it was probably SF that you got your discharge).

Paramilitaries have shut down sex shops in the North. Could have been related to a racketeering attempt rather than any "moral" issues, but it still seems easier here.

There was a copy of Irish wives in our flat last year, bought at 3am after a smoking/drinking session. They are authentically ugly (imagine what randy irish housewifes would actually look like!) and the photography is f@cking terrible.about the irish thing though they all seemed to have english sounding names (and i'm not sure i can see enough irish housewifes posing and putting their numbers in a mag for it to come out in any way regularly)

Dunno if it's the same film, but American porn star Kylie Ireland wanted to make a film in "the old country". No idea if it ever got made.

As for the sexyireland website, it's hosted by some crowd in San Francisco, if anyone's interested.

A crowd up on capel street used to shoot porn films. It operated for about a year and a half and then was shut down.

However I find it hard to believe that similar operations havnt sprung up around other parts of the country. You can go onto ebay and buy video's of travellers doing bare knuckle boxing ffs!

Pah - the DVD cover has a Union jack and the slogan "Rude Britannia" - it might have been filmed in Donegal but I don't think any real Irish porn-maker would deny our country's hard-earned independence like that! Poor aul' Pádraig Pearce must be spinning in his grave!

While checking out that link I discovered this quote which proves that there was no way it could have been filmed in Ireland - "Outside in the sunshine Pascal gets Eire's tits out".

It's marketed for the randy brits/yanks surely?

Wasn't there a lot of upset because TG4 accidentially funded a soft porn flick here? Apparently it wasn't all that soft untill they edited down.

A friend of mine also said a former college mate (studied film production) of his was doing porn here but didn't show it was Ireland for some legal reason.

I think I saw that one. Some werewolf thing with a former playmate?

Nah, an irish flag would work better in that case. Irish porn is rarer than British porn so it would make sense to emphasise that.

Not that I've been reading the site honest - but apparently they moved their operation from the UK to ireland to take advantage of the tax breaks :D

Gives a whole new meaning to the words "the brits are coming"
