I know this has probably been posted before but i need help. What is the most simple, fastest and best software for copying DVDs. I have Shrink, that takes 2 and a half hours to compress a 96 minute DVD. Then DVD4free that just turns green and smiles. And finally, Nero, that doesn't do anything except to say it has an error of some kind.

If anyone could help me, i would GREATLY, appriciate it.

    AJAX in iggnorance............................

I presume the DVD's are you're own personal one's, that you own the rights to. If so, then the best is DVDshrink 3.2, if its running very slow then remove all the extras and get yourself some more RAM.

Yeah shrink should'nt take that long. Couple of things:

Make sure your burner is on as master on the secondary ide on its own.

Also check the transfer mode for your ide controllers, should be dma instead of pio (this cleared up my problem before)

And when ready to burn using shrink the "backup options" tab there is an option (think its deep analysis) make sure this is unticked.

see below - i pulled this off another website.
both these sites come with instructions you can print off.
I have a aldi external burner and i do not need nero.
remember you must decrypt first to your hard drive and then burn these files to dvd(which makes some temparory files) so you will take a lot of space up on your hard drive (maybe 8gb) so make sure you have loads of space once you start.

just to round it up - i've been searching, reading and downloading.

First - you need to DeCrypt - d/l dvd decrypter, run it and save the files somewhere on your hard drive.
    http://www.dvddecrypter.com
Next - in particular order - you need to manipulate those files to a recordable 4.7 GB
D/L DVD shrink and open up the decrypted files. http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

you'll need NERO as the burn engine though.
re-install each prog twice so they register with each other though.

Reauthor the disc to incude only the main movie, not the menu's or extras - unless you really want them.
Drag the selected files across and DVD shrink auto sizes the compression ratio -and hence quality - to fit the 4.7 capacity of your DVD blank.
    ( Less is more )

Hit bob's yer loaf of bread.
