So yesterday, i moved the self-built computer up to the attic out of the way, and for setting up my complete workstation, so when i connected my monitor
(Phillips 107E) it came on as usual from pressing the power button. now the wierd thing is the led on the button of the monitor usually changes from yellow(standby) to green(on) but has instead gone to a brown colour, with no display, i thought it was the monitor so i put it on my laptop and it worked, so im thinking could it be the Gfx card.

If it is this has only happened since i carried it upstairs.:confused:

You may have knocked it loose. Try reseating it. If that fails try it in another PC. Then you'll know for sure.

yea ive checked the card, its secure alright, i took it out (discharged myself beforehand) and reseated it and the same problem, so i changed it to the PC downstairs and its not working there either, so i think its safe to assume that the card fcuked.

Have you checked if the pins are straight on the monitor cable? Sometimes even just slightly out pins will cause it to go AWOL.

Then the cards dead, it may be worth checking that no pins on the card have become bent and are shorting it out. I hope it wasnt an expensive card!

Check your ram and everything else. I thought my whole rig was gone ntil my friend reseated my RAM for me. there was no signal going to the monitor while there was a problem and no beeps too.
