I am currently working in a technical support position , but am not finding any challenges in the role have been there for 5 months

The recruitment company that found me my current position are also employing me to the organisation I am working for

Should I ask the company to relocate me to another role or should I look externally ?

    Any advice would be great

    Cheers

Technical support positions can be quite tedious, but if you ask to be re-located, wouldnt you just end up in the same situation 5 months time?

Are there any promotional opportunities in the company?? maybe you should start showing interest in extra things, enquire about more rights etc... I do all the time so that I can learn more for future work, but I do know what you mean, it can be quite annoying (boring) changing passwords and telling people how to fix their email in tech support (I've been doing it for 2 years!!)

My previous job consisted me of me doing boring tedious work that lacked any real challange or learning opportunity. I stuck at it for ten months and should have sorted it out a lot sooner (about five months sooner). I would strongly suggest doing something about it and trying to find a more suitable role.

It depends on your situation. Do you really really really need your current job? If you have people depening on your income then either try and find a new position without rocking the boat too much (Look internally).

If however you have no dependents then look everywhere. A job where you arent being challenged is pointless and a waste of your life. Especially if you have nothing holding you back! Just look while holding your current position. Worse comes to worse give customers that ring in your name... give them horrible advice then ask them to call you back so you can chekc if everything went to plan then simply guide them through the mess you made.q
