problems with dvd rw drive

    hi!
    My dvdrw drive is reading all my blank dvds as being full ie no space remaining.
    so cannot copy anything
    bummer

    If you know the make and model of the drive you could reset it by updating the firmware from the manufacturers website.
    Follow the instructions carefully tho'

    Maybe your drive is a -R only, and you have +R discs (or vice versa).

    its plus and minus using maplin own brand dvd-r's,
    anything?

    You do realise that you can't use +/- DVD's like floppies?

    To put data on them you have to (a) use a program like Nero etc. or (b) format them as a packet written UDF disk (which can then be used like a floppy - but don't, go with option a).

    DVD-RAM is the exception but it's quite rarly used.

    will keep trying but i think it is all software so far!
