i just bought a usb gps receiver.
can anyone recommend what software i should use on my laptop?

european metroguide. v7 covers all towns and villages in ireland apparently. i haven't seen anywhere you can buy v7 but if you buy v6 which doesn't cover ireland very well you get a free upgrade from garmin. but if you're living in dublin, cork, galway, waterford, etc you might as well just stick with v6. good cheap site there:

im not totally sure the garmin software works with non garmin products tho. best check that before splashing out

i will look into the garmin software, thanx for the advice.
i should also mention that i need the software to cover ireland, the UK and spain.
any other recommendations?

ok, here's the update. i've now tried:

• destinator 3
• garmin mapsource metroguide
• microsoft streets & trips
• alturion pro
• route 66

the problem is that most of the above software is for pdas,
and route 66 was nearly there, but i need audio alerts aswell.
i have 2 more to try...

I'v eused the copilot software for the PDA. Good software, gets me there every time.

Easy enough to use too. I'd imagine it's similar for the laptop.
