Was in Xtra-Vision today and they had the 6-Disc Collector's Edition of the Die-Hard Trilogy (this one here!) for just €25 (note it's price on play being £25.99 sterling).

Was very tempted to get it... but then i saw right above it, they have the standard Die-Hard Trilogy with just the 3 films and very few extras (this one here!) for the exact same price!

What a bargain for a 6 disc set with a free booklet and film cell!! :D Very happy with it...! It was €45 in there a couple of weeks back.

Bear in mind... may have been a pricing mistake in my local store but if you're going by an Xtra-Vision at some point.. check it out and reply!

Yeah.. they were selling the individual special editions in there too for €18 each (or 2 for €28). That's why i thought the Collector's Edition must be mis-priced!

Film frame is pretty cool too! Do they differ? I got McClane leaning up against the glass inside the skyscraper in Die-Hard 1.

Think so, its the die hard trilogy (6 disks).

    http://www.dvdsoon.com/show-title-details.xml?uid=18577

Worked out about 15 euro with members discount and all about 3/4 months ago. Price gone well up now.

A bargain it certainly is. Also saw the normal 3 film box set for €25 and in with the 2 for €28 were each film on its own(but did include bonus disc)

When the girl behind the counter scanned it she did take a second look at the screen.I was ready for the big "you have to sell it at the price displayed" arguement but she just said "€25 please"

BTW what does your Senitype card show?
Mine has B.W. looking down thru a window in the building his wife works at.

Yeah.. mine's same! As far as i know, they're all the same!

As this image of the set on Play.com shows what i think is the exact same frame cell!

Yep thats the same one alright.
Just print a different number on each card.
Off to watch the first one now. :D

I just called my local XV, and was told it went on sale today for €20! I'll let y'all know if that's just the nonsensical ramblings of the high staff member who answered the phone.

Nope... still haven't watched any of them yet! Probably documented on how to find it somewhere online.

And am still PO'd i paid €25 when it was reduced to €20 the following day. And they still have 3 copies of it in my local Xtra Vision. Hidden away pretty well too.. don't think anyone sees them! They're away from most of the retail DVD's.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,559 ✭✭✭The tax man

Found it but it wasn't worth the hassle.
It seems all the discs have hidden stuff on them.

On Wednesday the Xtravision had only the DVDs but not the box. I was told there was going to be more stuff coming in the follwing day (Thursday). Maybe this Die Hard Trilogy was one of them.

Anyone who's around the North West (Sligo area) .. there's still plenty in the Sligo Branch of XV.

Picked up mine in Xtravision Tallaght today, they still have a few left in stock.

They had a couple left in the Finglas Xtravision today. Well worth the €20 IMO - the 35mm cell is cool (I got the one from the first film when he's looking out the window at the cop I think)
