Franz are in a different class, like compairing Big Tom to Elvis

Both are terrible to be honest..

They are different but I have to say I prefer Franz. I think they're just better quality. I saw the Kaisers in the Ambassador in April and they put on a great show and I love their album! Their new single is great live.

I'm more looking forward to seeing Franz in August though!

Thanks for all your comments!! I see both bands aren't everyones cup or tea but I love them!! Is Kaiser Chief's album any good?

I love Oh My God and Everyday I Love You Less and Less

It's great to see the indie scene is picking up these last few years!! :)

I thought FF were a joke when I first saw them in Nov 2003 playing on Jools Holland in their first TV performance... all wearing fake tashes and prancing about.
I gotta admit, "Take Me Out" was a good anthem, but the rest of the album was pants.
Saw a few performance by the Chiefs, and it seems their trying too hard to be FF.
    Not a fan at all.

Kaisers come across too manufactured for my own personal liking. But I love the album!

When I first got their album I was dying to ear Take Me Out and Dark of the Matinee cos they are 2 great songs!! When I listened to the rest of the album quickly I thought; you must be jokin. Cos at first I thought it was ****!! But now I listen to it a lot and love Michael, Darts of Pleasure and even Cheating On Me.

    Yeah, good point there.
I've put the album away. Perhaps FF have just gone through overkill.
I can probably see myself taking that album back out in a few months and blasting it up and going "whoa, this rocks!" :D

I have to say I quite like Franz Ferdinand. They just have something I can't put my finger on that makes me want to boogie. Yes they're not that original but they do what they do very well. Don't like the Kaiser Chiefs though.

Franz any day, the chiefs are ok, but you can't go krazy kick dancing to them like you can to Franz.... :D

im with you on this one - i think the franz album is fairly good. definately boogieable. and the kaiser chiefs are pretty bad. well the couple of songs i heard anyway.

(also agree on the my bloody valentine thing as well - 10 times the band eith franz ferdinand and the chiefs are!)

does anyone else think that the singer for the kaiser chiefs tries too much to be like damon albarn? i think liam gallaghers 'knobhead student' comment about chris martin fits very well with the kaiser chief guy...

re. FF, i didnt like the album much at first but it grew on me after a while, and take me out is one of the best pop tunes of the last few years....

Love both bands. Franz's tunes are so perfect for the indie disco while Kasier's tunes are ideal for when your absolutley pissed during the summer. Kaisers are defintiely OTT obsessed by mid 90's Blur but that cant be a bad thing.

Ehhhhh I'll go with Franz just about. Hopefully the BIG 2nd album will be out before the end of the year as I'm getting impatient!

Thanks for all your posts!! It seems Franz Ferdinand wins this time!! I still think I'll get the chiefs album though!! Can't wait for FF's second!! :)

Yeah it'll be interesting to see what FF will do for a second album. I'm afraid they might be a one album wonder but hopefully they'll prove me wrong.

They're all pop sell-out versions of Joy Division anyway.

Nah, Franz Ferdinand remind me much more of Blondie.

The Kaiser Chiefs are worthless manufactured clones from the DNA of a Blur covers band from 1993.

Soon all they'll be doing is writing fluff pieces on shopping for neckwear in 'Tie Monthly' and quietly sobbing into their pillows at night about how they were famous once.

Franz Ferdinand are decent - promising. Their second album could be terrific if they develop their sound past the promises of the first.
