Comparing Coolpix 7900 & IXUS 700

    hi all, some advice would be very much appreciated here.

    i'm retiring the Nikon Coolpix 4300 for this summers trip to peru, and i was looking at these two cameras, the Nikon Coolpix 7900 and the Canon IXUS 700 and i'd like some outside advice.

    i'm kind of leaning towards the Nikon, but if anyine has experience with either i'd love to hear some practical pros and cons.

    i like the traditional Nikon interface and controls, as i'm used to them now, but i don't want that to bias my decision too much.

    the nikon also seems to be about 50 euro cheaper, but if the canon is actually better i wouldn't mind paying for that.

    on the links given, the nikon has more pros but also more cons.

    so as i'm a complete novice, i'd appreciate any useful advice.
