    Haven't heard of this until recently... but it will be billions of years before this becomes a problem, so before then we will realise we are all in a matrix type reality and have moved onto the real thing... hopefully! ;)

    I've heard of similar ideas allright. Personally I think that by the time the end of the universe comes around (assuming we haven't wiped ourselves out in the meantime), we'll have learned enough about how it works to live on without it, possibly by making universes of our own.

    .....hmmm, I wonder where ours came from ?

    I read the brief link you posted the other day about it. From that, the main problem I'd have is that the guy appears to have junked teh laws of thermodynamics (ie he accepts that the universe is a closed system but claims that the amount of information processed, which requires work to be done, by the end of the universe, will be infinite). I'm not a huge fan of the theological interpretation that guy gave, either. Still, it's usually interesting to read alternative theories.
