It's been sitting unopened on my desk along with a few other games for nearly a month now! Haven't had the time or inclination to play many games until a few days ago, and I naturally started with Rome Total War which I'd been putting off buying for ages.

Just wondering if people have played Empire Earth II and what they think of it? I liked the original, held my interest for a few months of casual play, so I'm curious.

But I'm far too engrossed in RTW atm to even consider trying it...

Far superior to the first imo, the first bored me very quickly really, like this one though, the cost of research is totally seperate from the cost of everything else, so you arent ruining your army building funds by researching, which works really well. And later in the game when money is flowing freely the armies that are marching get somewhat spammy. Big improvement over the first, still not a touch on RTW though, but then again, what is? :)

I loved that game and it's predecessor Caesar 2. :)

Have you tried Children of the Nile? It's a very interesting take on the whole city building genre.

i havent tried that game Children of the Nile, but i'll give it a try

if its anything like that gem ceasar3, ill be hooked

i think the main reason i liked that game is because it was so damm hard, and satisfing when a city boomed

hmmm ee2, i dunno, i watched a few videos on their site about this game, i wasn't too impressed, i want deeper economy and base building in my stragety games

    The official site is here.

Definitely worth having a look, very engaging and difficult. Different take on things than Caesar 3 but it's very engrosing and is very challenging to master.

Huge amount of depth in it. Huge. And the graphics are very purty.

Also the game does not have a "gold" economy, ie it has multiple resources instead of one gold standard currency. Makes balancing resources a key part of any good strategy :)
