has anybody heard of the idea that at the very most fundamental level the universe is just randomness?
in his book "darwin's dangerous idea" by the philosopher dan dennet, he proposes a heirarchy of the structure of the universe with everything derived from randomness at the very bottom.

Process Physics, started by Reginald Cahill is based of a roughly similar idea.

It is very Heraclitian in that there are no stable 'things', but the appearance of 'things' is dependant on an underlying chaotic flux for its continuity and identity.

In a physical sense the flux is self-referential noise.

Gravity probe B is set to test the theory.
