Anyone know a good tool for recoverying corrupted word documents that is preferably free. My friend was using open office and saved a file as a word document and it seems that it just corrupted the file.

Have you tried re-opening it in open-office and re-saving it as a rtf or something?

There is an 'open corrupt file' function in word. used it the other day and it worked great. think its an option in 'file/open'.
