Last Wednesday my BBC1 London and NI, 2, 3, 4 and BBC24 vanished.

The value for these are Quality: 69%, Strength 84%.

    I still have BBC1 East (W) and ITV3 with Quality 73% and Strength 85%.

Does anyone know why the BBC channels sudenly dissapeared?

I have the same problem. Could some one please give us clear instructions on how to change the Pid numbers on the Comag SL 55 I also tried adding new transponders and was never able to manage it

I forgot to say that I am using a Lidl receiver and that I have done automatic scanning, but still no luck. Surely this should have pulled in the stations, if they have changed?

I changed the pid and sids on mine, but tono availa. In the end, I just removed astra2 and added it back in.

    Hi,

Have the LIDL receiver and a Sky Box with an FTA card, and BBC is gone from both.

Lidl receiver: got BBC back by removing Astra from EPG, and then doing a scan.

Any ideas what to do with Sky box?

I think if you are using a normal (non-sky) box, then some receivers will find the new PID if you just leave it on that channel for a while. Mine seems to do that anyway. PID's seem to change on a semi-regular basis at 28e, so its a nice feature to have.

Otherwise you can try deleting the old one channels and rescanning - some receivers might not update properly if the channel is already present (albeit with a different PID) in you channel list. If that doesnt work, some receivers will have a 'Search by PID' mode, where you go to the frequency specified and enter the PID etc for the channel and then tell it to find it.

Sky boxes normally get information about all channel changes over the air, so really you shouldnt have to do anything. Maybe try reinitialising and all that if necessary.

I went into manual scanning on the Lidl box, but cannot enter anything there. It just does not do anything what so ever. You click OK and instead of letting you enter the values for a station you want to find it starts scanning.

To change PID's on a Lidl box

    Menu-Service organising-Edit Channels -Modify

Video Pid (Available on Lyngsat SatcoDX Kingofsat etc)
Audio Pid (Usually Video Pid + 1 unless specified otherwise)
PCR PID (Usually same as video PID unless specified otherwise)
TTX PID (Usually 8191 unless specified otherwise)

Incidently why do the Beeb keep faffing around with their PID's ?
Its hardly done just to annoy non $ky dodgybox users since they have renounced $ky's encryption

No sign of an update on my Sky Box with an ex-sub UK card in it.
I've done a software update (Hold down Reset after reboot) and tried a re-install from the installer menu (Services 4-0-1, then hit select) but no joy.
I'm getting EPG information from the channels, but no picture.

Is anybody else having this problem with a digibox?

    Sounds a bit wierd

Try leaving the box on overnight with your UK card in it tuned to either 501 or 999

Ah, that explains it. The father in law had the BBC channels coming in as scrambled on the FTA reciever I set up for him (Strong FTA). Just re-scanned and it was sorted.

Do as mjsmith and zenith say ( i didn't know either, so thanks). On Lidl equip remove and re-scan...Worked a treat. It also removed all the deadwood( stations no longer receivable, for whatever reason). One thing though , I have 3 LNBs on the Lidl equip(1 dish) , the above worked foe all the sats except hotbird. When rescanned it appeared to crash and hotbird was not in rhe sat list. It took me a while to figure what was wrong...It kept crashing at the sane transponder number....83 of 96. Counted back on ntransponder list to find no 83 did a manual scan on this single transponder and it crashed again, Now that I was sure deleted this transponder and it works find now. 12476 H 27500 3/4 was the bad boy

The experts here have already answered this on a number of accasions....you need a FTV(free to view) card ( as distinct from FTA, free to air -no card needed) from GB (£20) and unplug your phone line.

Just with regards to Hotbird, I have noticed that if I do a complete scan like you did, my hotbird crashes too.

Has anyone found a reason / soultion for this?

The phone line does not need to be plugged out . It can't possibly call Sky so why bother?

Read the sticky or do a search, every second thread seems to be asking this question.

    Hi Tabatha
I simply didn't people to think that I knew it all...I also am newbie. I'm a little longer at it than you possibly, but as i don't have the time to spend playing with the equip, I'll probably always be a newbie. I always mention "the experts" to indicate to them that I'm not claiming credit for the knowledge / information they have freely given. Without reading their previous posts and their help I would still be at square one.
N.B. If I have been curt / short / rude to yourself or anyone else on this forum please be advised that it was not my intention and I unreservedly tender my apologies, and I am NOT being sarcastic.
    Regards

    Hi mj
I found 1 transponder causing this, don't know why. removing it worked, again don't know why. Full story on previous page this thread. Not being short, no need to repeat and bore everyone.
if you can't find it let me know

RE: the Hotbird Lidl box problem see this thread

Incidently I was able to resolve the problem by taking 12.476H 27.5 3/4 out of the transponder list and then manually adding all the channels (Including EbS) from said transponder
