Just wondering if it is possible to share a DSL connection between two detached houses about 50 meters apart.
I was wondering what type of equipment i would need. At the moment I have a normal wired broadband router.
    Any suggestions would be appriciated.

if no obstructions this shouldnt be an issue. Get yourself 2 cisco aironet 350 access points and off you go.

This implies that your wireless accesspoints/routers are outdoors or in windows facing each other.

You'll probably want to buy 2 omni directional antennas from

Check what onnection they use because they are different for different brand of wireless equipment. I bought two to share DSL between 2 apartments, the same side of the building but one ground floor and one 3rd floor. They cost a little over e50 after postage.

    Worked perfectly though.

at the risk of being backwards in my use of technology i have shared my broadband with my parents house - we share the same driveway (my 'chalet' and my parents house are about 20 metres apart), so i just strung a CAT5 ethernet cable between the 2 houses. not as neat as wireless, but since there is just a mess of overgrown trees in between it was no problem to throw the cable up in the trees, and since i could get the cable for free from work i decided not to bother with wireless (I had a wired router like you).

definitely wireless is the way to go but if you are too scabby like me, wired is an option, plus CAT5 ethernets limit is 100 metres so you'd have no problems there.
