Laptop Refresh Rate

    Hi fellow humans!

This may seem like a stupid question (especially from somebody with a S.Eng degree!!).

Under display properties, it says that the default screen refresh rate (RR) is 60 and I have no option to change this. So I contacted tech support and they said that 60 was just a windows default for an external CRT screen and the LCD's don’t use RR's. Is this correct?

    Cheers!

The refresh rate is irrelevant (it is USED, at least for those connected thry an analog connection. What makes a difference for LCDs is the pixel response time, which is genreally a non-changeable property of the panel.

A laptop uses pixels that dont need refreshing all the time, the ones that change are changed the rest stay static. Simple really as has been said the responce time is important, a panel under .25ms is good under .20 is better over .30 is quite bad.
