As a web developer with 5 years experience what can I expect salary-wise?

Sorry if this or similar has been posted.

I'm a web developer with 5 years experience.

4 1/2 years with one company. Set up an online language learning site. Role turned from developer to developer/manager of about 6 people. VBScript, ASP, SQL, Javascript

1/2 year with a financial software company as a developer (currently with) VBScript, ASP, SQL, Javascript, Oracle.

What should I expect salary wise?
    :)
    Cheers for any thoughts
    M

    it depends.
if you work for mcdonalds, probably around 7 or 8 euro an hour.

on the other hand, if youa re talking about working as a web developer, then i would say it really depends on what company you work for.

of course, if you are talking about contracting yourself out, theni have no idea what the market rate is, or what the market will hold.

what do you think you should get?

It'd be either continuing in a web development role or going towards project management.

"If at first you don't succeed, try management"

I don't know about the project management part, but I would imagine that a web developer with 5 years could expect mid thirties? If it is a senior role (team lead), then you could probably add another 10K

As WWM said, it really depends on the company - and of course what the market is like at the moment. If you are looking for a permanent position, then a recruitment agency may be able to give you a ball park estimate of what you could expect.

Could be 25-35k from what I've seen.

It's a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question, but I think that would be quite low for someone with a good bit of experience and seems to have worked in a more senior role.
