I am with them since Nov 04 and my line rental switched over to them in March 05. If you have BB or dial up packages with eircom they will hold on to your line rental afaik.

I am with UTV talk since bov 04 and still have rental with eircom. I have no services with eircom at all. Explain that.

Other telcos and eircom aren't the greatest at organizing line rental pay changeovers - just give UTV a call and they should do it. Did you ever sign a form from UTV / Eircom to allow the change the line rental and billing arrangements?

That was a leftover of the wholesale arguement, as eircom still own the line and do any repairs on it, thats why you were billed by eircom.

But as Comreg directed that line rental can be part of the same bill, I'd get onto UTV and see why this hasn't happened.

Ages ago. I get the benefits of the free calls but eircom still bill me for rental. UTV support is nothing short of terrible, a 3 week turnaround for emails is usual.

Two things I wonder about if I were to change to another call provider....

    1. Do you get what you pay for?

    2. Or if a fault occurs, who does one ring? And is it handled any way quicker?

UTV is excellent value, but if anything goes wrong they are next to useless. Faults have to reported to UTV who in turn should tell eircom. Well thats the theory, but they often don't bother. Calling eircom will result in a "call UTV we don't provide your line".

No, faults take double the time to get fixed in my experience.

My line rental switched over to UTV on May 17th. Got a 'final bill' from Eircom along witha letter advising that this had changed and to ensure it was in line with my wishes. They give you a series of numbers you can call to check who your provider is for calls and rental.

When did you join UTV talk?

    1. Yes - my phone bill, since moving to Smart has dropped dramatically (a lot of calls were national peak calls).

    2. A fault occurred with my line a month or two back - rang smart and it was fixed within 4 days, pretty impressive. If a fault occurrs, you are meant to ring your telephone carrier and they refer on to eircom. Some are quick at doing this, others leave a lot to be desired!

been on to UTV a few times but they have never got back to me. Given up with their technical support as well, Just try and battle through any connection problems the best I can with the best support coming from forums like this one.
