Hi, I have a lot of dv footage that I have converted from video 8 to dv tape and I want to edit them to make some home movies. The problem is that I only have a 20 gig drive on my laptop which otherwise is pretty good for processing, 512 ram. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for external hard disk that I could use with the laptop, it has 2 firewire ports and 4 usb so I could (in theory)transfer directly from the camera to the hard-disk. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Just buy a 250 Gig External Fire wire drive, then plug the camera into the other firewire port.

Thanks Lump, that's what I figured I might need, about 250g. Any ideas about make or model that would be reliable? I have looked at western digital and Maxtor models, both seem to have a good range but have found reviews from disgruntled customers of almost every one I have looked at so far. Does anyone have a similar setup?
