Lost mobile - can I buy new one with old number?

    Ok people, My mother has lost her my mobile a few months ago and can't find it.
    It was with 087,
    WOuld it be possibe, for her to buy a new mobile with vodafone/o2 and keep her original number?

    Yeah id say so,they will ask a few questions to find out if it was in fact her number.Did she register it when she first got the number with Vodafone?

    They will ask DOB and address if she did register.

    head on over to vodafone.ie and you can order a replacement sim for about €22

    If you go into any Vodafone shop they'll give you one for free. Friend of mine did it just last week.

    Once you registered the phone you can get your number back for free no probs.

    No she lost her mobile, so has to buy a new Mobile,
    Can she buy an 02 mobile, retain her 087 number, and what happens to the free 70 euro credit with the new phone?

    If she's even a half decent user she'll get a free sim in the shops. Meteor only charge 7.50 for a sim, they only cost about a euro!
