I thought it was one of the better books... think I've read about 10 now. The main character was pretty funny... cannot remember his name now.

I really enjoyed it (although I can say that about every one I've read.)

    Typical Pratchett greatness.

I liked it - especially compared to that mess that was Monstrous Regiment.

I thought MR was great. Certainly one of my faves.

It was good enough, although I haven't attempted to re-read it yet (which is normally my test for any Pratchett book). It did feel a bit too much like Pratchett on auto-pilot; giving himself easy ways of discussing themes that he wanted to discuss while also providing some very funny moments.

I know this will sound a bit odd but pTerry sems to be trying too hard to provide likeable characters of late, which I find grating because of the contrast between these newer almost-identikit-made characters and the older characters like Carrot or Vimes, who have had a chance to develop and evolve.

I will say that if Pratchett puts out another Vimes book I'm not reading the damn thing. The man's pushing 70 and has tried to retire 2 or 3 times. Just leave him bloody be!

It felt as if he wanted to force the story and the characters, to preach about something just because he wanted to instead of just letting the story follow a more natural progression. Eh, that doesn't make sense. I can't explain it properly but I just wasn't content with the story. It wasn't as smooth as his normal work.

Thats either deliberately smart, or unintentionally hialrious.
I loved Going Postal, It was a very well rounded story and one of the best Discworld looking glasses held up to earths history, in this one the history of telecoms and all round geekyness.
