George Lucas tells a scooper for Cinescape that in the back of his noggin' he has an idea for another add-on to the "Star Wars" movie series : A prequel to "The Phantom Menace".

Nope, not the adventures of young Jar Jar Binks building an underwater haven - but the tales of the Jedi regaining control of the universe from the many Dark Lords some 88 years before Anakin Skywalker's bowl cut ever graced the earth.

Yoda - who was instrumental in the effort - would apparently have a headlining role.

Granted, Lucas, now 60, says he won't be captaining such a ship if it ever happens though.

Only 88 years before hand? And about a hundred years later they lose the galaxy to the Sith again... They really should be a bit more careful.

Well it says 'Dark Lords', which shouldn't really be the Sith as they have been extinct for 'thousands of years' by the time of Ep1... as far as the Jedi know anyway. Maybe some behind-the-scenes Sith stuff will take place.

This would make more sense... then we'd actually get to see a younger Yoda for real.

Although I never really liked the character....

In the star wars game "knight of the old republic" the game is set 1000 years before the whole saga. It is at the height of battle between the Sith and the Jedi. I think it wud make a cool film. I always wanted to see the jedi fight the sith in a kinda huge scale battle, epic battle style.

Another concept could be before episode 4 and after 3, where Vadar goes out to hunt the last of the jedi down. It would be something, perhaps a story of Obi Wan on his own, with Qui gon in it too I like Ewan McGregor and i nearly shed a tear at the end of ep 3 knowing there would be no more.

George says they'll be doing two TV series that will fill this in.

personally id like it to be about ulic qel droma and exar kun, their story arc was fantastic. knights of the old republic was tame and samey.

Yeah that was great stuff alright. Thats the one with the mandolin mercenaries or something, is it not? Mandalore is their leader....or something.

Would make a great film. Exar Kun also had the double edged lightsaber, and killed alot of Jedi Masters both himself and through his apprentices.

Sort of like the ideals of the extermination of the Jedi in EpIII in a tiny way.

Still though, thats one story I'd love to see!

Ulic qel droma and exar kuns attempt to take over the republic is what started the mandalorian wars, the mandalorians allied with the two rogue jedi and they were pretty much going to win the battle except the republic had reinforcements arrive to save the day, mandalore was killed (the leader of the mandalorians is always called mandalore) and they retreated before waging bloody war on the edge of the republic much akin to genocide.

Exar kun fled to yavin IV where he met the last remnants of the actual sith race. known as massassi warriors, they had lost the knowledge that had made them great after their last defeat by the jedi. He enslaved them and had them build the temples all over yavin 4 as foci for the dark force.

Nomi sunrider, who became head of the jedi council found out about this (dont remember exactly how) and led a jedi task force who used the first appearance of battle meditation to create a force storm that eradicated pretty much all life on yavin 4. but while this was going on exar kun was infusing himself into a force crystal by sacrificing all the massassi warriors.

anyway ulic got away lightly, he fled to Rhen Var where he stayed for the next 15 years till he died, after training nomi sunriders daughter.

anyway hehe, kotor while a fine game isnt movie material by far.
