Overweight can cause lack of energy, and self-image issues.

    Is that a possible factor?

    Don't be hung over?

Eat properly, sleep properly and get plenty of exercise. Seriously.

I'm not over weight. I recently got Iritable bowel sydrome and I think that may have something to do with it. Drink and smoke is being dropped for a while to see if that helps. Gonna sleep more too. :( my partner thinks its him, that he isn't sexy. So not the reason. I really have to fix this.

The pill can really affect your libido too - are you on it? Also stress, tiredness and not having sex regularly can depress your libido. The more you do it the more you want it :D

I am on Diannette, not sure if thats doing it cause I only started recently on it and I've been like this for longer than I've been on it. I have sex an average between 4-8 times a week... but have lost all interest in masterbating. Tiredness may be having an effect going to try to get 10 hours sleep a night for a while to totally recharge!

And that's not enough?! How many times a week did you have sex before this "problem".

I saw an article recently on these patches that are impregnated with female hormones that are meant to be worn on the wrist and sniffed regularly. Apparently they really work. They're called Scentuelle

Various minor and major mental illnesses can reduce libido.

So can some of the drugs used to treat them.

    Catch 22 really.

Although what Seamus said is very true. If you're not healthy, your libido will be low.Generally speaking.

Sometimes the old chestnut 'act as if' can work for this one, 'act as if' and sometimes you suddenly find 'you are', if you know what i mean.

Is this from stress? Have a word with your doctor the next time he checks out the IBS.

Persistant stress will reduce libido*. Also a lot of medications can interfere with libido and a lot of other things. Read the leaflet of anything you are taking.

*Biologically probably something to do with needing to survive the threat (previously carnivorous predators - now the sedentary workplace with the overbearing boss) before reproducing.

I didn't have it as often as this but I was more energetic at the time and my boyfriend has a really good sex drive, I want to have sex as much as he wants to.

I didn't think I was stressed but apparently I am. Maybe this thread should be How to get rid of stress? can't drink cause it affects the IBS and smoking kills your libido. :(

Smoking too much can have bad effects for men, impotence etc. Not sure about women.

Drink. Well, drink effects us all different, although in my experience it helps people loosen their inhibitions in the bedroom. Although again, too much will be bad.

Everything in moderation, including moderation. As usual.

I'm not saying that, is your doctor saying that?

IBS can litterally suck away all your engery up until the point you can barely potter arround the house never mind work or sex and that is just the engery
not the gut twisting pain at times and the medication.

Talk to your gp or the consultant you are under about this,
talk to your partner, you will need to expalin that there will be a lot of
adjustments while you get your IBS under control with diet and meds.
But your engery and intrest will return and with a vengence.

Get some vitamin E tablets and some Red Kooga ginseng and you'll be back in the saddle in no time. Honest.
