Right.I'm getting broadband in in a few weeks(Khannie if this belongs in bb forum please move). I am wondering which way to go. lIm not putting a wireless network in apartment at the minute. What is my best option for a wired network using broadband. Was thinking of setting up something like clark connect on a box and using it for accessing internet. Either that or using router and software firewall. Have access to a couple of 3-4 year old pcs and server too(some of which will be fs at ridiculous prices, just havent got spec yet). I have set up wired networks before so thats not a problem. Cheers for any advice.

Were you looking for a recommendation on the form of broadband/provider, model of router or just for suggestions on interesting software to try out with broadband?

ClarkConnect is overkill if you're not going to use VPN/ your own mail server/etc. A standard ethernet router/modem combo to start with, preferably one that can be used as a bridge if you want to add Clarkconnect or linux/solaris as gateway/firewall later. (for ipV6 experimentation or whatever)
