Goin to Turkey at the end of August with the missus for a week. Heading to the nice coastal port of Alanya. Is there any advice on travelling to turkey that i should know about? Any hotspots, good clubs/pubs that people have been to in Alanya?

Down by the harbour there are a load of nightclubs that stay open pretty late. There are a lot of nice restaurants as wel- you won't be stuck. Its very warm there in the summer- its not unusual for it to be over 40 so be careful. The best beach is Cleopatra.
Don't bother getting any Turkish Lira- you can use euro everywhere. Try going away o some of the day trips up the mountains. It is worth it

Its not as cheap as you might think. The restaurants are a little cheaper than Ireland. Drinks are dearer in hotels than in bars and nightclubs. (The night life is great- I wasn't home before 4 any night) The local beer is cheap enough- a bit strong. The wine is very light. Shopping can be quite cheap. Whatever price someone says- half it and work from there. They will start at a really inflated price. Always check your receipt too. When I was there a few weeks ago I rent out a sun lounger and they charged me for two instead of one (not that it cost much).
Go on some of the boat trips to the caves. (you can bargain this price too)
