My sky+ bpx is after crashing for the 6th time since November 2003 and needs to be replaced. This time Sky are charging me for the honour and even after speaking to a supervisor insist the box is out of warrenty. The last box was replaced in January and I'd been away since April which is when it went on the blink so I'm pretty annoyed that I've got to pay. They said they've no idea why its happening and it really doesn't make sense to me. Anyone else having similar problems? I've posted bout this the last time too but I'm just really stumped as to what to do. And I really don't wanna pay them to fix something that shouldn't need to be replaced every other month. :(

Among the things things that can crash a hard drive are exposure to vibration/shock, strong magnetic fields, sudden changes in temperature or extremes in temperature, steamy or dusty athmospheres

I've tried replacing the hard disk but its still the same.
Most of my recordings come up as failed and it crashes a lot.
I'm convinced it must be the box itself.
How much do Sky charge I just want the box replaced, its out of warentee anyway so I'd imagine my opening it won't affect anything.
Also how much stuff do I need to go through with them on the phone before they'll send someone out with a replacement box?

    Hi All,
If you think thats bad try this, I`m on my third $ky + box in under 2 years, box 1 a faulty second tuner, box 2 a replacement box under warranty (By One Week) lasted 2 months, box three is showing signs of odd behaviour already (Other channels emptied itself, and my picture setting reset to 4x3 from 4x3l. None of these box`s were sub box`s, i bought them all at full price. I could start a whole new thread about my woes with $ky custromer (Lack of) services, including a refusal to activate a box for my brother who lives 50 yards across the farmyard and for which I was paying , on the grounds that it was a seperate residance and the account had to be in his name (The postal and billing address is the same for both houses!). They wont even send me a contract booklet in my name to the same address, but I Can have as many box`s as I want in spain or other countries it seems!. So much for trying to do the legal way!! (Sorry for the rant!!!!!)(HISSSSSSsssss) the sound of escaping steam!!!!!!!

    Cheers All
