Yep you can register your domain privately . godaddy.com will do it for you if you wish.

i have domains with namecheap.com and they do masking on whois details. last time i registered a new domain, i got a free mask. I also pay for other domain masking, and the good deal is that i can switch around the masks for any domain i have. :D

With Godaddy.com it's an extra charge... I think it's called 'private domain' or something. The standard Godaddy account doesn't hide the details.

You should be able to just change the details.
I used be able to back when I was with register.com.

I just enter incomplete/false details. Never had any hassle. Your supposed to provide real details though.

Dunno what ICANN think of this, and its almost certain that GoDaddy would give your details out to any human who asked almost instantly

Bye bye domain if the root NIC finds out you've done that.

Meh 2 years and they havent found, you can pay an extra fee to most hosters (word?) to mask your details.

why not just use your work or office details ? - you have to add in some correct contact details though ( with register anyhow )

what's the big problem like anyway with your details being there, if ya really wanted it - there is load sof othe rplaces you could get it from.

Shouldn't the name of this thread be - owner's of domains?

That's in clear breach of ICANN rules and can lead to the domain being suspended.
Up until about a year ago they did not check. These days they do.

Most companies can provide an obfuscation service at an extra fee, although there is some controversy surrounding this in relation to .us domains:
