    Hi,
I was at The Boss last night and recorded it. I'm pretty sure this is all legal as my friend who I went with said that Bruce has stated on forums and such that he has no problem with this.

I know there is yousendit.com but that will expire in a week. Is there anywhere else I can host it for free?

    Thanks.

i assume this is an impromptu gig your boss put on at work showcasing his multi talentedness?

anyway the main thing to worry about is bandwith.

is it just for yourself or are you going to give out the location?

if its just for yourself and a few friends, you could put it anywhere, even eircom and it would never be noticed.
if your goign to start telling everyone you might want to use a torrent so as to share out the bandwith and not having the chance of it being delted by the hosters

I'm in the process of looking for a ticket:( but if I get there, I'll record it. You have a H1XX I thought Cremo? That's what I use to record gigs! Could be a bit dodgy to bring to weezer though.. Bruce was fine, seating and all that.

My friend is probably going to tell people in Bruce forums the location, I've split it into 8 parts all under 25mb each, the whole gig is 165mb.

How would I use the torrents?

2 guys asked me for a copy because they saw me doing it last night

I think I'll just keep it with rapidshare, people wont have to download a programme or anything then:)

I'll post links in this thread when I have the show uploaded for those who want a copy:) It takes quite a while to upload it so be patient:)

You'd want to be very sure of that, I think concert rights are usually retained by the promoters (altough this could be Bruce himself, given how big he is). If it is a seperate management/promotional company then I don't think they'd think twice before suing you for every penny you have, and probably more.

According to another poster in another Thread Bruce made decisions such as not allowing people to re-enter from toilets during a song. Plus my friend said Bruce himself has said it's ok.

For the likes of Counting Crows, if you go to their official website, they have a bootleg section which promotes this kind of thing. They give links to hosted shows, details of recording etc.

Anyway, for the sake of it, lets just say that yes, it was my boss putting on a show for me and the other employees. If it sounded like another gig that's purely coincidental, he is an MC so if the lyrics sounded like someone elses then that it also a coincidence.

    I'm surprised at you.

Don't be so smart cormie. I have to ban people every day from this forum for that kind of crap. I'm closing this thread until you provide me with concrete evidence (i.e. linkage, not heresay) that what you're asking for is legal.

The rest of you: Please stop giving help to people for psuedo-legal or illegal things. If there is a question mark, please report the post to the mods using the report post button. We'll decide what's legal and what's not (or close the thread temporarily until the decision has been made by someone with more knowledge).

Ok....the consensus within the mod community was that this shouldn't be allowed and was illegal, so it's staying closed.

Thanks to cormie for being completely reasonable throughout via PM.
